Well, to put it simply, I will be attempting to document the happenings, actions, and philosophies of the God Movement here in this temporal local known as Athens, GA (if I could state it any more pretentiously, let me know). More specifically I'll be doing a not quite so live correspondence from one of my favorite places on this globe: The Presbyterian Student Center at UGA. (No, the PSC was not Photoshoped onto this wintering background)
(Christian ministry circa 12th century)
So, if what we are proposing is not another Crusade to free the Holy Land from those "evil" Saracens, covert every soul to the One, Holy, Apostolic faith, or politically take over the United States from the liberal and libertarian "I hate God and the American Way-"ers, then what is are we proposing?
Basically, the God Movement is a call for a brand new (sic), no, rather a return to the Way of Christ. It calls for a deeper understanding of the Hope and Will of the Divine. It's a shift from the sword brandishing Christian-nationalists that seem to make up the majority of Christianity in our country, and towards a notion of peaceful strength that can redirect mankind back to its proper, and more harmonious place in the world.

Because, let's face it yall (hooray for Southern vernacular), Christianity across the world is dying. All across Christianity's old stomping grounds (Europe and North America), church attendances are down, and a large portion of people no longer find spiritual satisfaction in their churches. For those in the God Movement, we believe this is because of the spiritual disconnect between the message of Christ and the teaching of many mainstream churches today (more on this disconnect later).
WE CAN NOT CONTINUE DOWN THIS ROAD.
To save our Tradition, we must destroy our tradition. We must change what has defined us as Christian for nearly 1700 years and remember who Christ called and still calls us to be.
As Shane Claiborne once said, "Another World is Possible."
Let's make it happen.
